AI trading journal: your trades, your mistakes, your numbers
The Finance Link journal reads the closed trades from your MetaTrader 5 account, calculates the statistics that matter and shows you the mistakes you repeat. Every Monday the Coach puts your week into words.
Your trades arrive by themselves
You connect the account once, with the broker's server, the account number and the investor password: the read-only password every MetaTrader 5 account has, which shows the trades but cannot open or close any. The password travels encrypted. From then on closed trades and the balance enter the journal without you typing anything; the first read also brings in the last 90 days. You can connect up to three accounts.
The statistics that matter
- Net result, percentage of winning trades, average win and average loss, and the ratio between them.
- Profit factor and expectancy per trade: what each trade returns on average, losses included.
- Equity curve and maximum drawdown, the deepest fall from the highest point.
- Results by instrument, by day of the week and by session: Asia, London, London and New York together, New York.
- Best and worst day, winning and losing streaks, average trade duration.
The mistakes that repeat
The journal looks for four behaviours that cost almost everyone money, and only shows them if they happened at least twice: re-entering within half an hour of a loss to win it back, increasing lot size after a loss, making twice your usual number of trades in a day, and holding losers longer than winners.
The four-part score
Discipline, consistent risk, patience and regularity: four items with the formula written next to them, so you know exactly where each number comes from. The score appears after at least 20 trades, because with less data it would claim more than it knows.
The Monday Coach
Every Monday the Coach compares your week with the one before and looks at the patterns of the last four. The journal calculates the numbers; artificial intelligence puts them into words: three observations and one goal for the week ahead. It cannot invent numbers, does not forecast and does not tell you what to buy or sell. It needs a week with at least three closed trades, or five in the last four weeks.
The statistics are not made by AI
Every statistic in the journal is a calculation, the same on every page of the platform: the dashboard, the analysis and the Coach always show the same number for the same thing. AI only steps in to explain, never to count. And trades simulated in the backtest stay out of the journal, so practice and real accounts never mix.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with MetaTrader 4?
No, the automatic connection is for MetaTrader 5 accounts.
Can the investor password be used to trade on my account?
No. It is MetaTrader's read-only password: it lets you see trades and balance, not open, modify or close positions. We do not need your main password, and it should never be given to anyone.
Does it work with a prop firm account?
Yes, if it is a MetaTrader 5 account. For the prop's rules, such as daily loss and maximum drawdown, there is also the Prop Tracker.
How many trades are needed for the numbers to mean something?
The more the better. The first statistics are readable after about ten trades; the score waits for 20, the Coach for at least three trades in a week.
